Cheptoek Foundation is a non-organization founded in December 2022 aimed at empowering the communities living around the Sipi area through social and economic outreaches. Our priority is to promote both boy and girl child education in the least privileged families who can’t afford to keep their children at school due to the low levels of income. Our foundation also extends support to the vulnerable elderly widows above 50 years of age who can’t be in position to meet their own basic needs.
This charity has been of success through our collaboration with Discover Sipi which offers different tour activities within the area like hiking Sipi Falls, Mount Elgon Trekking, Coffee tour experience among other activities and partnering with Kalenjin Coffee (email) who deals in buying coffee directly from the farmers in form of cherries and roasts and packages them in different measurements and sell to the tourists in form of souvenirs. Discover Sipi also offers branded hoodies and t-shirts of all colors and sizes and the profits goes to our foundation to sustain and facilitate in buying books, pens, uniforms and pay some few school requirements for the children under our foundation to keep them at school to achieve their careers in the future. Elder women are gifted with basic needs like food, basins, mattresses, soaps among others.
